Opening ceremony for multilateral military drills in Thailand
Officers attend an opening ceremony for multilateral military exercises, codenamed "Cobra Gold," in Nakongnayok in central Thailand on Feb. 9, 2015. The largest drills of the kind in Southeast Asia, sponsored by the U.S. and Thai forces, are also joined by Japan's Self-Defense Forces and the South Korean military. It will last through Feb. 20, with live-fire and map exercises scheduled, joined by about 10,000 soldiers and officers from 24 countries. (Kyodo)
