Skatepark in tsunami-hit area
Ruka Mizunuma, 6, poses for a photo after succeeding at a skateboarding trick for the first time on Jan. 12, 2015, at the Carpe Diem Park in Sendai's Arahama district in northeastern Japan. The park, whose name means "seize the day" in Latin, was created by Shinji Kida, 34, on the site of his former house after the area was devastated by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. (Kyodo)
