Okinawa conducts undersea research, blocking base transfer eyed

Okinawa prefectural government staff conduct undersea research on Feb. 26, 2015, in coastal areas off the Henoko district in Nago, southwestern Japan, where a U.S. military base may be relocated. They will examine if the Defense Ministry's drilling and other work is permissible. The move came after a claim that corals have been damaged by concrete blocks being used by the ministry for the drilling survey. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
