Demolition work at National Stadium

Demolition work is in progress on March 5, 2015 at the National Stadium in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward, the centerpiece of the 1964 Olympic Games and often referred to as a "holy ground" in the Japanese sport world. The stadium will be completely demolished by September and construction on a new facility for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is to begin in October, according to details published the same day.
