Long lines at Narita airport customs amid rise in foreign visitors
Foreign visitors arriving at Narita International Airport Terminal 2 form a long line at the immigration counter for passport checks on Feb. 26, 2015, in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. Despite the recent increase in foreign visitors, government authorities involved in customs, immigration and quarantine procedures have been slow to act to remedy the situation, caused partly by their decision to combine the terminal's two arrival checkpoints into one after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster that had led to reduced foreign visitors.
