Japan, U.S. commemorate WWII war dead on Iwoto Island

Japan and the United States hold a joint ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of one of the fiercest battles of World War II on Iwoto Island in the Pacific on March 21, 2015. About 550 people including veterans, relatives of the dead and senior government officials from the two countries took part in the ceremony mark the Battle of Iwojima, the previous name of the island.
