Japanese-American WWII veteran pays 1st postwar visit to Okinawa
U.S. war veteran Harold Okumura, who fought in the Battle of Okinawa as a U.S. military interpreter, visits the coast of Yomitan, Okinawa Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on April 1, 2015, the 70th anniversary of U.S. troops' landing there during World War II. Okumura, a third-generation Japanese-American living in Hawaii, visited Okinawa for the first time since working there briefly after the war. (Kyodo)
