Japanese-Palauans looking forward to emperor's visit
Minoru Ueki, 84, who served as Palauan ambassador to Japan from 2009 to 2013, is interviewed by Kyodo News in Palau in February 2015 ahead of a visit to the western Pacific nation by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on April 8-9 to pay respects to those who lost their lives there during World War II. After the war, Ueki founded a group of Palauans of Japanese descent that offers support to relatives of the war dead who visit the islands. (Kyodo)
