100th anniversary of U.S. dogwood tree donation to Japan
U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy delivers a speech at Tokyo Metropolitan Engei High School in the Japanese capital's Setagaya Ward on April 10, 2015, during an event marking the 100th anniversary of donation of 40 dogwood trees -- one of which is still alive at the high school -- from the United States to Japan. The donation in 1915 as a symbol of friendship between the two countries was a return gift after Japan donated cherry trees to the United States. (Kyodo)
