Japanese emigrant to N. Korea yearns for improved bilateral ties
Yoshie Arai, a 82-year-old Japanese woman who moved to North Korea in 1960, is set to be interviewed by Kyodo News in North Korea's capital Pyongyang on April 16, 2015. Arai is one of about 1,800 Japanese women who accompanied their ethnic Korean husbands to North Korea in a 1959-1984 repatriation program managed by the Red Cross societies of the two countries.
