McDonald's Japan to get mothers on board for food safety project
McDonald's Holdings Co. President Sarah Casanova explains at a news conference in Tokyo on May 11, 2015, the hamburger chain operator's new project to enlist a team of mothers from the public to scrutinize its food safety efforts. Consumer confidence and patronage at McDonald's in Japan have plummeted since the revelation in summer 2014 of the use of expired chicken meat from a Chinese supplier and, more recently, multiple consumer complaints about foreign objects found in its products.
