Gov't urged to promote elderly people's emigration to regions
Soichiro Suzuki (R), a 72-year-old resident of a community house in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, talks with fellow occupants running a store in the facility on June 3, 2015. Suzuki, who moved to the central Japan city in April from Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo, says he is satisfied with his new life. The Japan Policy Council, a private-sector research body, has suggested that the government promote elderly people's emigration to provincial areas from the Tokyo region. (Kyodo)
