Stewartia flower event takes place in Kyoto
A flower-viewing event to enjoy the Japanese stewartia begins at Torin-in temple in Kyoto, western Japan, on June 15, 2015. The flower is used as a symbol of transience described in "The Tale of the Heike," as it blossoms and falls from the tree in one day. (Kyodo)
