Sharp mass-produces "in-cell type" LCD panel

Sharp Corp. announces in Osaka on June 17, 2015, the launch of mass production of an "in-cell type" of LCD touch panel for supply to Chinese smartphone manufacturers. The new type is thinner and less expensive than conventional panels as it has a touch sensor function incorporated into an LCD while the conventional one has a sensor attached to the panel, according to Sharp.
