70th anniv. of uprising at Hanaoka forced labor mining camp
Wang Jingxin, whose father was forced to work at the Hanaoka mining camp in the northeastern Japanese city of Odate during the war, addresses a commemorative ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of a major uprising there, which resulted in the deaths of many Chinese workers. Wang called on more than 100 attendees to keep the tragic history in their heart to further promote bilateral friendship. (Kyodo)
