Gay people call for legalization of same-sex marriage in Japan
Lawyers representing 455 petitioners across Japan head to the Japan Federation of Bar Associations to file a request for it to recommend that the government and parliament legislate for the legalization of same-sex marriages in Japan. The petitioners argued that same-sex marriage should be legalized as the Constitution guarantees equality under the law, according to their lawyers. (Kyodo)
