Matsue Castle designated as national treasure in Japan
The main stronghold of Matsue Castle in the western Japanese prefecture of Shimane is designated as a national treasure by the culture ministry on July 8, 2015. The castle, built in 1611, is one of the 12 remaining original castles of Japan. (Kyodo)
