Mexico honors "samurai" diplomat, presents granddaughter with medal
Japanese poet Sumireko Horiguchi, granddaughter of a Japanese charge d'affaires to Mexico in 1913, Kumaichi Horiguchi, unveils a commemorative plate with Mexican Senate President Miguel Barbosa on July 10, 2015, at the Mexican Embassy in Tokyo. The plate honors the diplomat for sheltering the wife and relatives of then Mexican President Francisco Madero, who was eventually killed in a coup, in Japan's legation during the 1910-1920 Mexican Revolution.
