Nuclear plant in western Japan gets safety OK, edges nearer restart

File photo taken in May 2015 shows Nos. 1 (far L), 2(C) and 3 reactors of Shikoku Electric Power Co.'s Ikata nuclear power plant in Ehime Prefecture, western Japan. The No. 3 reactor obtained safety clearance from regulators on July 15, 2015, moving it a step closer to restarting as the government seeks to revive the country's nuclear industry that has been at a standstill following the 2011 nuclear crisis.
