JCP head Shii hopes public opinion will help scrap security bills
Japanese Communist Party leader Kazuo Shii speaks at a meeting of editorial writers from member newspapers of Kyodo News in Tokyo on July 22, 2015. He expressed hope that the overwhelming public opinion shown by media polls against a controversial government-proposed package of national security bills currently being discussed in the upper house of parliament would force the bills to go nowhere.
