Akiko Iwamoto, pictured on May 30, 2015, has been editor-in-chief for three years of the Kizuna Shimbun (newspaper of bonds) published by a volunteer group for evacuees in about 7,000 temporary dwellings in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, built after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that hit the northeastern Japan region of Tohoku.
