Japan-born American Hawkins helps set off fireworks at Pearl Harbor
Edwin Hawkins, former president of the Japan America Society of Hawaii who was born in Japan's Gunma Prefecture, speaks in an interview in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, on Aug. 3, 2015.
