Time-honored Irani cafes disappearing in Mumbai
Locals enjoy tea at Kyani & Co., a 111-year-old Irani cafe in Mumbai, on July 15, 2015. Such Persian-style teahouses, opened mainly in the 19th century by Irani Zoroastrian immigrants who fled the persecution of the Islamic dynasty, flourished into popular local eateries but are now disappearing due to city redevelopment and a lack of successors.
