Monument to commemorate POWs built on prison camp site in Nagasaki
Henk Kleijn, a 90-year-old former prisoner of war from the Netherlands, makes a speech on Sept. 13, 2015, during a ceremony to unveil a monument erected on the site of a World War II prisoner of war camp in the southwestern Japan city of Nagasaki. The monument, built with funds raised by Nagasaki citizens and other volunteers, bears the names of 73 POWs who lost their lives before the camp was liberated following Japan's defeat in August 1945.
