Lions' Akiyama surpasses Ichiro's single-season hits record
Shogo Akiyama of the Seibu Lions hits a double in the fifth inning against Orix Buffaloes at Kyocera Dome in Osaka to reach 212 hits for the season on Sept. 30, 2015, surpassing Ichiro Suzuki's single-season hits record of 210 in Japan by two. Japan's single-season hits record of 214 was set in 2010 by Matt Murton of the Hanshin Tigers. (Kyodo)
