Japan proposes building lithium ion battery-powered subs in Australia

The Japanese government and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., seeking to win a bid to build Australia's submarine fleet, hold a briefing session for the local defense industry in Sydney on Oct. 6, 2015, during a three-day international maritime exposition that got under way the same day.
