70 Japanese lawmakers visit Yasukuni Shrine

A nonpartisan group of Japanese lawmakers make their way to offer prayers as a group at the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo on Oct. 20, 2015 during its autumn festival. The visit by some 70 lawmakers followed worship at the Shinto shrine by two Cabinet ministers Oct. 18. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent an offering Oct. 17 without paying a visit out of consideration for Japan's Asian neighbors that regard the shrine as a symbol of Japan's past militarism.
