New York museum to exhibit 150 Japanese artworks
Photo taken Oct. 19, 2015, shows the Buddhist god of fire statute by sculptor Kaikei (active in the late 12th and early 13th centuries) displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The museum will start exhibiting 150 Japanese artworks from the 10th to 20th centuries donated after the 2012 death of American woman Mary Griggs Burke, who was known as the largest private collector of Japanese art outside of Japan, on Oct. 20.
