Special Turkish Airlines plane lands in Japan to commemorate friendship
A special Turkish Airlines plane, named "KUSHIMOTO," is seen after landing at Narita airport, east of Tokyo on Nov. 30, 2015, to mark the release of a movie depicting the friendship between Turkey and Japan. The aircraft was designed to resemble a plane used to help evacuate Japanese nationals from Tehran during the Iran-Iraq War in 1985, and was named after the Japanese coastal town where an Ottoman frigate sank in 1890 due to a typhoon. Of the 587 people aboard the warship, 69 survived due to rescue efforts by local people. (Kyodo)
