It is one of items shown on public display at the temple. They were given by the criminals' kin and other persons involved to chief priest Shocho Hanayama's grandfather Shinsho, who served as a chaplain at Sugamo Prison in Tokyo and was the only Japanese present to witness the Class A criminals being hanged.
