FAO adds 3 more Japanese regions to agricultural heritage list
(From L) Gifu Gov. Hajime Furuta, Wakayama Gov. Yoshinobu Nisaka and Miyazaki Gov. Shunji Kono hold certificates saying their Japanese prefectures have been each added to the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization's world agricultural heritage list. Gifu was selected for its fishing for sweetfish, Wakayama for its traditional production process for "ume" plums, and Miyazaki for its forest preservation and sustainable agriculture and forestry industry.
