Cafe featuring "Miffy" rabbit character opens in disaster-hit city

The opening ceremony for a cafe featuring the Dutch rabbit character "Miffy" is held at the shop in Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture, on Dec. 23, 2015. Japan's first permanent Miffy cafe in the city devastated by the massive 2011 earthquake and tsunami was set up with support from the Dutch Embassy in Japan and a company managing the works of Dick Bruna, creator of the rabbit character, in the country.
