Ex-GSDF head Kimizuka, who led 2011 quake rescue operation, dies
Photo taken in August 2013 shows Eiji Kimizuka, the chief of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force. Kimizuka, who led the SDF rescue and relief operations after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami along the northeastern coast of Japan's main island of Honshu, died Dec. 28, 2015, defense sources said Dec. 29 without specifying the cause.
