KDDI to provide power-phone discount package from April
Yuzo Ishikawa, senior managing executive officer of KDDI Corp., announces in Tokyo on Jan. 19, 2016, that the mobile phone carrier will offer a discount package of electricity and communication services in Japan by tying up with power companies from April, when the country's retail power market will be fully liberalized. Customers can get up to 5 percent off their electricity bills returned in the form of KDDI's "au Wallet" electronic money. (Kyodo)
