Scandal-hit Amari gives economic policy speech
Economic and Fiscal Policy Minister Akira Amari explains on Jan. 22, 2016, at the House of Representatives plenary session about allegations that he received money in return for doing favors for a construction company. In his economic policy speech, Amari called for stimulating private demand to lift Japan's nominal GDP by 20 percent from the current level to 600 trillion yen by around 2020. (Kyodo)
