Filipino "comfort women" lead rally as Japanese emperor meets Aquino
A Filipino woman, who was forced to work in a Japanese military brothel during World War II, holds a paper crane, a symbol of peace, during a rally in Manila on Jan. 27, 2016. Six such women led a protest near Malacanang Palace where Philippine President Benigno Aquino welcomed and met with visiting Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko as they availed themselves of the opportunity presented by the emperor's visit to demand justice from the Japanese government for their sufferings during the 1942-1945 Japanese occupation.
