Aftermath of major volcanic eruption in southwestern Japan
A ferry passes nearby Sakurajima volcano (background) in Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Feb. 6, 2016. A massive volcanic eruption the day before caused the Japan Meteorological Agency to raise its alert level for the volcano from 2 to 3 on a 5-point scale. The agency said that no data suggests the possibility of a further larger eruption occurring. (Kyodo)
