Japan sets up ground force unit near islets disputed by China
Personnel of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force stand guard near the entrance of their newly established facility on Japan's westernmost island of Yonaguni, Okinawa Prefecture, on March 28, 2016. The Defense Agency set up a unit of about 160 GSDF members the same day on the remote island to keep a close watch on Chinese maritime activities, particularly around the Japan-administered Senkaku Islands, which Beijing claims.
