Japan eyes tsunami summit of global high school students
Toshihiro Nikai, chairman of the General Council of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, addresses a meeting at the U.N. headquarters in New York on March 29, 2016, to commemorate the designation of Nov. 5 as World Tsunami Awareness Day. Nikai said Japan is planning to hold a summit of high school students from around the world to discuss lessons learned from the 2011 tsunami and earthquake disaster that damaged the northeastern Japan.
