Drone delivers books in rural Japan area
Students of a junior high school in Semboku in Akita Prefecture, northeastern Japan, pose for a photo with books and a drone that delivered them on April 11, 2016. The city conducted a test that day to have the drone fly the books about 1.2 kilometers from an elementary school to the junior high school, after Japan designated the rural community in August 2015 as a special zone where the use of drones for public purposes will be promoted as part of its regional area revitalization program.
