Japan defense vessels make port call in Vietnam
The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force guided-missile destroyer Ariake makes a port call on April 12, 2016, at Vietnam's strategic point of Cam Ranh Bay facing the South China Sea, relatively close to the Paracel and Spratly island chains disputed by several states including Vietnam and China. The port call by the Ariake, along with the Setogiri, another guided-missile destroyer, was the first to be made in Vietnam by any MSDF vessel. (Kyodo)
