OECD suggests Japan raise sales tax to "at least 15%" in future
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe addresses a meeting at his office in Tokyo on April 13, 2016, held as the fifth in a series of hearings by Abe of foreign economists as part of preparations for a Group of Seven summit Japan will host in May. Angel Gurria (L), secretary general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, suggested Japan raise the consumption tax from the current 8 percent to "at least 15 percent" in the future.
