Memorial held at former Japanese-American internment camp
People take part in a memorial ceremony in front of a cenotaph at Manzanar National Historic Site in Manzanar, California, on April 30, 2016, which commemorates the deaths of Japanese-Americans incarcerated there during World War II. Around 1,200 people, including relatives of the deceased, participated in a memorial ceremony at the site of the camp, one of several internment camps at which around 120,000 Japanese-Americans were incarcerated beginning in 1942.
