Japan Mint worker arrested for alleged stealing of gold ingot
Photo taken June 20, 2016, in the Omiya-Nishi station of Saitama prefectural police shows a gold ingot worth about 63.8 million yen, or $610,000. Yutaka Umeno, 54, a Tokyo Branch worker of the Japan Mint, was arrested the same day for allegedly stealing the gold ingot from the Mint Museum in January. He has admitted that he did it to make up for losses he suffered from foreign exchange margin transactions. (Kyodo)
