Japanese woman speaks in conference in Oslo against death penalty
Hideko Hakamada (C), the 83-year-old sister of Iwao Hakamada, 80, who spent 48 years in prison before being released in 2014 to receive a retrial in a 1966 murder case, speaks at the World Congress Against the Death Penalty in Oslo on June 22, 2016. Hakamada, who insists on her brother's innocence, told the audience how the brother had spent the years behind bars, including suffering a deterioration in mental health after his death sentence was finalized.
