Six plaintiffs recognized as sufferers of a-bomb linked diseases
Atomic bombing survivors, or hibakusha, and their supporters celebrate on June 29, 2016, after the Tokyo District Court accepted that six of them should be recognized as sufferers of A-bomb related diseases. The plaintiffs were in Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the cities were hit by atomic bombs in the latter stages of WWII, and have suffered various diseases, including heart failure and bowel cancer.
