Ruby Roman grapes fetch record 1.1 mil. yen in season's 1st auction
Takamaru Konishi, a buyer at a supermarket in Amagasaki, western Japan, holds a bunch of Ruby Roman table grapes at a wholesale market in the central Japanese city of Kanazawa on July 7, 2016. The supermarket, which became the winning bidder of the specialty of Ishikawa Prefecture with a record-high 1.1 million yen ($10,900) in the year's first auction, was also the winner of a pair of premium melons with a record-setting price of 3 million yen in Sapporo in May.
