Emergency work at Kumamoto Castle's turret almost completed

Emergency work to prevent the collapse of Kumamoto Castle's five-story Iida-maru turret, severely damaged by the April series of quakes, is unveiled to the media in the city of Kumamoto on July 28, 2016, as the work is almost done. The U-shaped steel support frame, which measures about 14 meters in height and about 30 meters in width, supports the turret as well as preventing the remnants of the stone wall from collapsing.
