Tsukiji Market's planned relocation to Toyosu to be postponed

Yuriko Koike has decided to postpone the planned relocation of the aging fish market to the capital's Toyosu waterfront in November and will make a decision about the date of the transfer after assessing in January the results of a groundwater survey conducted in the Toyosu area, a former plant site for gas production where contaminated soil has been found, a metropolitan government source said on Aug. 30, 2016.
