National Disaster Prevention Day in Japan
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrives at his office in Tokyo wearing anti-disaster clothes on Sept. 1, 2016, ahead of participating in a drill assuming the occurrence of a magnitude 9.1 earthquake in western Japan. Disaster drills were also held across Japan as Sept. 1 is designated as National Disaster Prevention Day, the anniversary of the magnitude 7.9 Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. (Kyodo)
